Editorial Standards
How CouponsOffersandDeals' buyer guides and reviews are written: who writes them, where the facts and figures come from, how corrections are handled, and how advertising stays separate from editorial judgment.
Editorial Standards
COD's buyer guides exist to help a car buyer walk into a dealership knowing more than they did yesterday — know before you go. COD is a pre-launch platform: our editorial guides are independent consumer education, not a marketplace of live dealer offers.
Who writes our guides
COD's buyer guides are produced by the COD editorial team, working alongside Roosevelt Gist, an automotive journalist who has covered the industry since 1986. COD is part of the AutoNetwork ecosystem of automotive consumer education.
Where our facts come from
Federal consumer-protection guidance from the FTC and CFPB.
NHTSA guidance and recall data.
Publicly available manufacturer and dealer pricing structures.
Direct citation of primary sources at the bottom of every guide.
Fees, price ranges, and incentives change and vary by state and dealer. Figures in our guides are typical cost ranges or estimates, not quotes, and every guide shows the date it was published and last updated.
What we don't do
We don't sell coverage. No dealer pays for a guide or its content.
We don't invent numbers. If a figure isn't published or sourced, we leave it out.
We don't claim live, verified, or claimable dealer offers exist until COD launches.
AI use
We use AI tools to help draft, structure, and summarize content. AI-assisted material is reviewed by a human before publication, and AI is never used to invent a fee, a statistic, or a claim about an offer.
Advertising and affiliate revenue
Advertising, affiliate links, and future dealer offers are kept separate from editorial judgment. Details are in our affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, we want to fix it. Contact us through the Contact page with the page and the correction. Substantive corrections are noted on the page and the updated date is revised.
